In Making Money in Heels, we talk about women and their relationship with money. We discuss the importance of women taking leadership roles in their finance and being motivated to generate sustainable incomes. The Power Panel features seven (7) women business leaders who are making a difference in their industries. All women have thriving businesses that are successful and helping other women be fabulous. A Portion of the proceeds from "Sexy and Wealthy in Heels" Events will go to the Divas Abroad Initiative.
What is the Purpose of Divas Abroad?
The purpose of the experience is to bring a group of women together, who collectively will work as a “board” to provide classes, workshops and exercises to empower other women in Belize, Central America for 10 consecutive days. As a team, we will create the curriculum, plan fundraising initiatives, executing fundraising, and raise funds to enable this experience.
The purpose of this program is to empower women; both the women organizing the trip (working together as a collective) and the women we will connect with in Belize. Please note that the purpose of this experience is NOT to earn profits/revenue- it is to cover basic travel and management costs.
About Our Partnered Organization: Cornerstone
Cornerstone Foundation is a local organization founded in the town of San Ignacio, district of Cayo, Belize. They are a grass roots organization founded on the humanitarian principals of recognizing the specific needs facing their community. Their concerns are for the community and each individual that it encompasses, regardless of his or her condition. We focus on helping people learn where to find resources and how to improve difficult situations. Cornerstone Foundation believes that every person has valuable skills, even if they are often unknown to him or her.
They try to help people use or enhance those skills, which can then be used to generate income or be beneficial in some other way.They advocate for children and women’s rights. They encourage women in violent situations to seek solutions and empower themselves with skills that enable them to achieve a degree of financial independence. As well they help families afraid of the unknown learn how to care for a loved one living with and often dying from HIV/AIDS and help children in difficult home environments learn life skills and sustainability.
